Silver bluestem is a warm-season perennial bunch grass native to North and South America. It grows 10 to 15 inches.
Silver bluestem is adapted to many different soil textures and site conditions. It does not, however, tolerate consistently moist sites. It has a wide distribution and can grow in areas with annual rainfall as low as 15 inches to 50 inches annually.
